I Look So Good

I recently discovered I have an affinity towards bitter love songs. As in breakup anthems. During the entire last-minute-cramming-before-the-exam period I had Kristinia Debarge’s ‘Goodbye’ and Esmee Denters’ ‘Outta Here’ playing on loop. And my favourite Taylor Swift song is ‘You’re Not Sorry’ and I think All-American Rejects’ ‘Gives You Hell’ is freaking awesome too :P

It’s definitely not derived from my personal experiences in my (nonexistent) love life. I think I might have developed a perspective on breakups from the million times someone around me had ended a romantic relationship or had it ended for them.

I realise I might not say it every time but deep down inside I always do think either party deserves better. Allow me to emphasize EITHER party. So I guess that’s how I grew fond of bitter love songs.

In my humble opinion, to be able to tell yourself you’ll be alright is brave but to be able to turn around and bash the person who did you wrong and to prove to him/her that you’ll be better off is, well, wrong, but heck it’s beyond courageous. Once a friend said “I wanna stick a toothpick up his shrinking dick” after a breakup and I think that’s freaking hilarious. I found a song (and no, it’s not about toothpicks and whatnot) and I think it’s pretty awesome.

I Look So Good (Without You) by Jessie James will be on my one-song-playlist on repeat now. When I first saw the title I went all WTH WHY THIS GIRL SO VAIN ONE?? First she sang about how good she looks in blue jeans and now this? I later found out the true meaning of the song. Oh! And she’s really pretty too. Like a mix between Adriana Lima and Thalia.

That’s all for now! Enjoy the video!

And Georgie Turned 21

Grrr I have an exam on Wednesday =.= Hate how we always have something to fuss over in medical school. If there’s no assignment due soon, there’s probably a whole other load of paperwork to be done. Otherwise there’d be a test. Or sometimes all three just get delivered in a package at the same time. Pfft. Got my assignments back and was surprised to have gotten a pretty high score for my CLI which Daniel frowned upon. I don’t blame him because I hardly understood it when I reread the piece but nonetheless, I’m grateful. Really grateful in fact :D

Since I don’t feel like studying (as always =.=), I shall update my blog for myself. And those who still drop by once in a while.

The topic for today’s post shall be GEORGINA’S 21ST BIRTHDAY because turning 21 is such a huge thing. It’s like stepping into the world of adulthood! Which probably sucks la but anywayssssssss

We TRIED to surprise her with a cake the Friday before her birthday and failed really miserably lol. OMG if anyone tried to distract me like Niyi and BFF I’d suspect something too. But of course, that’s probably because I’m smart wth.

Georgie cutting her cake.

Georgie’s birthday cake. I probably have more photos of her cake than I do of her cutting it :P

A very flattering photo of Georgie licking her finger.

A very flattering photo of me and BFF looking like our usual selves.

Dr Wong didn’t get to have cake again this time although we did intend to save him a piece. The first time we celebrated Ling Ying’s birthday, we just didn’t have enough left for him hahahaha :P I had a feeling that he might have been a little offended.

Anywho, on Saturday night (as in past 11pm), Cheryl and Niyi picked me up after MTV World Stage to go to McDonald’s to make tshirts for Georgie. Everyone who walked past our table must have thought we were some Arts students trying to finish an assignment or something.

Cheryl painting on the shirt I drew on because I’m not very good with paintbrushes (understatement).

Niyi being very mathematical with her drawings.

We stayed there til past 1 am and came back to my room to continue painting on the shirts before retiring to bed past 3 am *yawns*. The end results probably aren’t very flattering but in my defense, they’re pretty good for first-timers! :p

This was Niyi’s idea.

This was my idea :P I almost wanted to squeeze UHU all over the shirt for the glitter bits but wise old Niyi suggested that I should mix the glitter with the fabric dye, which I did. OMG it was so hard painting with that clump of shiny looking pile of goo. I hope they don’t get washed off that quickly.

On Georgie’s birthday itself, Niyi ‘kidnapped’ her to go to Klang Gates for a trek/hike/climb thingy but I didn’t join them for obvious reasons. It took them 4 hours or so I think.

For the dinner, I chose this place called Sanook at Plaza Kelana Jaya but I shall not elaborate more on it because the service was bad. The food portions were kinda small too.

I’m too lazy to type more so I’ll just post more photos now. Read more

Standing On The Line

That’s what Miley Cyrus is doing.

Pole on an ICE CREAM CART doesn’t sweeten things up. Peek-a-boo bra isn’t very innocent either.

Smart, but not smart enough. Good luck with the transition, Miley! Good song though. And I do think she has a lot of star quality for someone her age. And killer legs too.

I’ve been wasting my time for the past… 5 hours? Sigh. Don’t know why do I keep doing nothing. I should be working harder now that the exam is just ONE WEEK AWAY and I’ve had so much time for myself in the past week to oil my rusty engines. I probably should be studying a lot of Histology but the thing is, Histology is so freaking annoying and makes no sense. Neither does Embryology. And everything else that requires solely memory work.

Oh! MTV World Stage is probably starting soon. It’s 15 minutes away from where I am now but I have no tickets :( So no Pixie Lott for me. And no All-American Rejects :( I bet Hoobastank would stink live. They always do. Suddenly I can’t believe I’ve been missing out so much! The Saturdays were in Penang the weekend I was there (I think), Lady Gaga was in Singapore a few days ago apparently (and Sg is just a bus ride away) and now this. I guess I just don’t care enough anymore.

Sigh. I really miss my laptop. And I seriously freaking need a laptop NOW. Should have flown back when I got called for the screen test for the Lurve Affair Contest. Just might have had a chance on winning a MacBook T____________T I wanted to watch the top 3 videos on Facebook but since there’s no Flash player on this comp I won’t bother la. Make me even more bitter only hmmph.

OMG THERE’S A MOSQUITO BUZZING ABOVE MY HEAD. And my feet stink. Urgh. I hate stinky feet. EWWWWWWWW.

Sorry for the crappy post. Will post up photos once I’ve grouped them properly.

That’s all for now!

Mountain out of a Pseudo-mountain

Medical school was closed for a week for the Year 2′s because there was an internal case of H1N1. The break probably wasn’t well-deserved but it was very much needed. VERY VERY much needed indeed. I shiver at the thought of extra classes now, though. But at least I had fun when I still could. Tomorrow uni starts again.

Me and JY with our masks on. Can you read my eyes? Which, according to stupid exmom, are very far from exophthalmos =.=

Pat kicked himself out of his house and soon after the sun set that Friday we were already on our way to Penang. Hush.

Drove around for a long time, stayed in the car for probably almost half the days, hunted for cheap hotels quite unproductively, ate some good food, ate some not so good food *stares at Hans*, had ample amounts of fun and enjoyment.

Didn’t take tons of photos because I’ve been lazy at whipping out my camera. I realise I prefer to be in front of the lens rather than behind it. Shocking huh?

The Monday after I came back from Penang was spent quite fruitfully, starting with lunch at Subway with exmom and BFF. Exmom really has quite a lot of things to say. And suspectfully too much endorphins. Finally sent my netbook to be fixed but I have yet to get it back. Fingers crossed that the warranty is still valid and that I get it back soon. I REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED IT BACK!!!!!!!! T__________T

Tuesday was pretty eventful as well. Went on a solo KL adventure! Not too fun, but adventurous nonetheless. I budgeted a RM50 (which is not little at all actually) for transportation so I decided to take PUBLIC TRANSPORTS. KTM sucks so I decided to go wherever the LRT could take me.

Woke up around 10ish and ordered McDonald’s breakfast because I LURVE their breakfasts and started my journey around 11ish. By the time the shuttle bus stopped at Pyramid Tower, it was already past 12. Not the odd hour of travel I was hoping for but I decided to go ahead with the adventure anyway.

Oh! These shoes cost only SGD$10 by the way! So cheap right!! And they’re comfy! But they don’t have the awesomest grip o.O

Anyway, I took a cab public transport  from Sunway Pyramid to Kelana Jaya LRT which cost RM14 =.= Stupid cabs.

1st stop of the day was Amcorp Mall because I wanted to get novels. Cheap novels. Jo and JY have already been there and I wanted to go too!

At Book Xcess. OMG THE BOOKS THERE ARE SO CHEAP!!! The normal paperback novels are only RM17.90!! Which is like.. half the price of the same books sold in other major bookstores. Such ripoffs they are!! I spent quite some time in the bookstore to gain full worth of the time and effort spent getting there. Left the bookstore with 7 new books and a free book thong (which I do not know how to use) which cost less than Rm130!

Got onto the LRT again and stopped at Pasar Seni to look for artsy fartsy stuff that I might be able to utilise for my additional pieces of work. Couldn’t find Central Market so I went into a random rundown mall nearby to find that there really is nothing worth checking out inside. I usually like to go into rundown stores and thrift shops to see if they have anything cool but that mall really had nothing. cool. at. all. Was too scared to ask for directions from strangers because I was afraid that I might’ve stopped at the wrong station and Central Market was miles away wth so I texted Nick instead.

By the way Nick, Central Market is the LEAST rundown building there. In fact, it was fully air-conditioned!

But before I went to Central Market I stopped by another mall and went into this Indian clothing store because I’d always wanted those traditional Indian costumes! OMG they totally stared at me like I just came out from a spaceship that crashed into their store or something. The lady was evidently surprised when I said I’d be buying two Indian suits for myself. I think they’re called kurtas. They were only RM 60 each. If that’s not cheap, please do not tell me (even if you know where to get them at a better price). They look something like this:

Only, you know, much nicer because I have awesome taste. *vomits* I’ll take photos and post them up once I get to wear them! But I kinda plan to wear them with a blazer which is going to be so avant-garde/weird depending on how radical your fashion sense is, so yeah, I’ll show you guys some day!

So after that and Central Market, I decided to walk to Dataran Merdeka because it was only a few steps away. AND THE CREEPIEST THING HAPPENED TO ME OMG OMG OMG OMG

So as I was walking towards Dataran Merdeka some weird guy stopped me by the road and introduced himself by saying “Don’t be afraid of me. I mean no harm” WTH

Then he proceeded telling me about his mafia boss or whatever who got attacked at Petaling Street and now they’re trying to bring people to see the boss to see if it was the person who attacked him. Seriously WTF is wrong with these people?

And then he told me that if I wasn’t the one who attacked the boss, they’ll give me an ANGPAO WTH!

I was totally freaked out OMG OMG OMG so I waited for some other guy to walk past then I told him I had no time and quickly walked away with the other guy.

After that I didn’t have the mood to be adventurous anymore. Took the train back to Kelana Jaya then took a METERED cab back to the condo. The cab back was RM 10.50. I spent less than RM 35 on transportation woohoo!

That’s all!

I'm Not Dead

Neither is this blog.

I’ve just been busy with many things. So a bit of updates!

1. Both my laptops died on me. On the same day. I couldn’t turn on the bigger one at all that morning. It never went past beeping when I pressed the Power  button. The smaller one died on me after I accidentally dropped it in its pouch. The Windows couldn’t start afterwards. FML

2. CBP sucks. Big time. I’m just waiting for the end of the journey when I reflect on how I’d survived it all. Because I know I will.

3. Joined a study group. Might or might not be a good thing because I have zero discipline when it comes to studying. But then again, I’m learning new things.

Gotta go for dinner now so I shall just post some random photos of what have happened in the past 3 weeks.

Family picnic at Lake Gardens. Had very little food but took tons of jumpshots.

Dinner at Louisiana (at Kelana Jaya Plaza) with Evonnebabe, Jo and Stella. That was after tea at The Garden. Yes, I’ve been spending FORTUNES on food.

Evonnebabe’s 20th Birthday. Dressed up for a celebration IN UNI.

With the other people who dressed up to celebrate. Finally had an excuse to wear my shiny shirt. It’s only SGD$15!! :P

Been having nightmares, probably the harbinger for everything bad that has happened. Too bad the ghosts in them weren’t as hot as the one in this photo.

That’s all!
