Fuh I finally have some time to sit down, breathe and blog! I would’ve had time to visit Singapore/Malacca (again)/KL yesterday since it was a public holiday but noooooooooo plans were ruined by Dr Yap again! For the second time in a row FML. But it’s okaylah, he’s really nice so.. yeah. At least I got to hear a ronchi (yes, trying very hard to soothe my broken heart wth).

Anyway, I shall post more photos from Melaka! Would’ve taken much more if only I’d brought a camera savvy person with me. Too bad only Dan was willing to go Note to self: Travel to Melaka with a super pro photographer next time! But don’t worry Dan, I’ll still bring you next time! I mean, if you haven’t already developed a phobia for my awesome driving skills.

I guess the main reason of driving all the way up to Melaka this time was to errr… eat. Unfortunately, we didn’t do much of that. The only thing we had were the chicken rice balls which EVERYONE has been raving about. We had trouble looking for the right place to eat because every single shop seemed to claim that theirs was the most popular/authentic/awesome/not a hoax.

We ended up eating  at some shop called Hoe Kee or something because there was quite a long queue outside wth.

To be completely honest, I am not the biggest fan of chicken rice (or a fan at all) and I hate clumpy rice. So I don’t know what I was thinking when I wanted to have chicken rice balls =.= But surprisingly I really liked it! Not enough for me to endure a 3-hour journey of driving and queuing up, that is.

I know Melaka is a tourist attraction spot and only tourists are supposed to shop there but…….. I was kind of a tourist too! I mean, it was my first time there. Which was why I ended up buying tons of junk. My wallet was pretty dry by the end of noon

They had loads of shops selling really cute useless items wth. And I’m a sucker for cute useless items wth. They were probably overpriced but I thought they were still rather cheap. I mean, I got super duper cute paper clips for RM 3 per pack.. with about 6 in a pack. I’d take photos of everything I bought but that would just remind me of the unnecessary spending that I still feel rather guilty about o.O Maybe next time

Oh! And I’m totally into this shop called Orang Utan. I’ve read about it before in MAS’ inflight mag Going Places (which is like my ultimate favourite magazine. Broke my heart when I couldn’t get my hands on them even though I was on 2 MAS flights in a single day a week ago T_T) so when I saw it I was like.. HEY THIS LOOKS SO FAMILIAR!

The t-shirts designs aren’t very mainstream, which I guess is why I like them You can google Charles Cham to find out more about the artist behind the designs I bought 2 t-shirts… which were way too big for me =.= The shopkeeper kept telling me that since I was tall I should get that certain size and that the shirts would shrink by 5% when washed wth. They better shrink by 20% I tell you.

Or I can just sport the whole hip hop look.

By the way, the t-shirts only go for RM30 each which is pretty cheap for a rather commercialised franchise if you ask me.

I bought 2 more shirts that day, which I thought looked very cultural, and I am currently obsessed with cultural clothing now wth. I got myself another samfoo!

This is my 4th one bought during the CNY season o.O Actually, I was wearing one on that day itself. I am so obsessed with samfoos it’s not funny anymore. But I think they look really good I still don’t have a red one though. What are the odds of that right?

Anyhowwwwww, we also went to the Stadhuys Square/Christ Church, which I thought was too… polished. I mean, it’s nice that they bother preserving the buildings and all but the paint looked too… new. I think it lowers entire aesthetic value of the place.

Hi guys! Since there’s nothing better for me to do with the free wifi here at KLIA, I’ve decided to blog. So woohoo for you guys!

By the way, the free wifi here is only valid for 2 hours wth damn stingy can.

Anyway, I’m going to blog about my trip to Singapore a few weeks ago. Grace and I initially planned to go down on Friday but the plan was made unsuccessful when I received a text from Jian Yuan at 7 in the morning telling us there would be bedside teaching that afternoon =.=

But we managed to go on Saturday so yay us!

The whole point of going to Singapore was for the Body Worlds Exhibition because us being the ever so nerdy medical students just can’t get enough of plastinated models of the human body. Uh huh. I don’t have photos from the exhibition though because we weren’t allowed to take any photos inside the expo which is such a shame because they had some pretty awesome plastinated models if you ask me. And they had horses and giraffes too which was totally random but very artsy nonetheless. There was a very artistic display of the many many cross-sections of a giraffe shaped like a giraffe! But other than that everything else pretty much looked like what we had in our Anatomy lab in SUNWAY (I miss not having to have tutorials in CONTAINERS).

We had a tour around the Science Centre too since we only needed to add $1 for the package. I think it was a bit too geeky for me

After that we were supposed to meet up with Jun Yet and Evonnebabe to do a bit of shopping at Bugis but due to some miscommunication, they’d gone back to JB by the time we got to Bugis wth. Oh well, Grace and I did a bit of last minute shopping. I mean, Grace did most of the shopping Serious. I only bought a jacket (which I’m wearing as I’m typing this) and a bag. Almost everything looked the same like the last time I went (which was last June!). And the price was the same too =.= Still didn’t buy the I M Fat shirt I wanted to because I is too stingy to pay $10 for a t-shirt like that wth.

We got a bit too carried away and ended up shopping til about 10 so we decided to take a cab back instead of the bus, which is a lot more expensive but wayyyyyyy more convenient.

That concludes my trip to Singapore.

The one thing I always look forward to about coming home is… the internet wth. Ever since college, I’ve had sucky internet at wherever I was staying. Internet at home is slow too but it’s tolerable. At least I get to check my emails whenever I wanted to, blog hop and Facebook until the cows come home. YouTube sometimes gets too slow, though.

The thing is, the internet is only so slow because my dad hogs all the bandwidth. So whenever I wanna stream an episode of Ugly Betty or upload my unresized photos, I normally do it when he’s not around. I’d go to his room and shut down his computer and walla! Problem solved.

You might think that I’m an awfully nefarious son but once you’ve experienced having to wait a freaking hour to load a 3 minute video on YouTube, you’d probably be doing the same. Seriously, my dad downloads like 30 movies SIMULTANEOUSLY. It’s too much effort to scroll through the list and delicately pause each and every download so I normally just turn off the entire computer

I curse the day he was introduced to Xunlei. Amen.

Anyway, I figured turning off his computer every time he steps out is also too much of a hassle now so I’ve come up with another solution!

I fidgeted with the Chinese characters on the Preferences and limited his download speed to ………. 5kb/s.

Don’t mess with evil people I tell you! We are usually the smarter bunch bleh.

So that kind of solved the problem.. for like a day. I got to use YouTube conveniently and my sister got to finish downloading her TVB series without it being stuck at 98% or the likes.

But yesterday the Internet decided to go all cuckoo again. I got disconnected every 10 minutes FML. I think it’s karma. (And Streamyx too, obviously. Just because karma decides to bitch slap me doesn’t give you a reason to give such bad service, TM) And I haven’t even done my PBL! FMLX2.

And I’m going back to JB tomorrow so that means NO INTERNET FOR THE WEEKEND FML X3. STUPID TM WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO INSTALL THE PHONE LINE AT OUR PLACE LA???

But actually I don’t even know what’s my task for PBL so not much difference also wth.

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of updates. I unsubscribed P1 because the reception was too bad and TM hasn’t installed the phone line at our place yet, so I’ve been pretty much detached from the virtual world for the past 2 weeks. There’re computers on campus but when I’m using them, it usually involves doing research for school. And I think I haven’t been doing enough because I still feel so stupid. Actually I feel stupider each day so I guess that means I gotta hit the books real soon. Or start visiting the wards more often, or both.

I’m back at home now so it’s all good. For another 3 days or so anyway. It’s Chinese New Year and I’ve done SOME visiting but not much. It’s that time again when I don’t feel like doing anything AT ALL. All I want to do is sleep. Isn’t that what everyone should be doing during the HOLIDAY anyway? I’ve got some serious sleep debt to pay because I’ve been waking up before 7.30 almost everyday since school started and that’s not cool at all.

Oh! But my car arrived in JB So that’s a license to wake up a bit later I was so thrilled because it means no more having to coordinate my time with everyone else’s! Although I don’t fancy driving that much, I enjoy being able to go wherever I want whenever I want to You have no idea how stoked I am to not have to depend on other people/taxis to get to my destination. But I think I have to be more careful on the road though. JB ROADS (not so much the drivers) SUCK BIG TIME! The road plans are sooooooooooooo bad I don’t know which brainless punk would’ve been ignorant enough to have come up with them. The roads make driving there so much more dangerous.

Oklah I am QUITE a dangerous driver too and I bet Daniel (and his brothers) would agree on that. Along with like everyone else who has sat in my car but………….. I promise to start loving the act of braking more

I wish I could show you how the hospital looks like but I don’t have any photos. It’s pretty huge. Walking from the wards to the campus makes me a little breathless because it involves climbing a hill. The campus is… small. But rather cosy EXCEPT the containers. I don’t know what politics are going on between Monash and the hospital but hello we are kind of paying 42K per semester… don’t they think we deserve to study in proper rooms at least? Please?

ANYWAYYYYYY, other than school I’ve also been cooking quite a bit. This was our little pre-CNY lunch last Friday before everyone flew home:

Guess which dish(es) was/were prepared by me! Not the raw salad with no dressing please I’m not a slacker. Not the scrambled eggs either I am not that boring We thought we would have a lot of leftovers (biasalah I was the one who bought the ingredients wth) but we finished almost everything! Except some chicken in the tomyam soup.

Haven’t had the chance to explore eateries that much because I’m still gung-ho about cooking myself but Dan and I went to Lazio at Danga Bay the other day and I quite like it there! I’ll make sure I go back again, with my camera

Went to Singapore twice! Once with my family. The other time with Evonnebabe, Jun Yet, Grace & Jo. Spent most of my half-day at Science Centre for the Body Worlds Exhibition (which was like an artsy Anatomy Museum) and squeezing amongst the sea of people at Bugis Street with Niyi and Grace. Evonnebabe and Jun Yet decided to ditch us after they cleared their pockets at Orchard

Definitely going back to Singapore again soon. There seems to be so many places I haven’t explored and I wonder how that’s even possible because Singapore is so tiny! Should refrain myself from shopping though because the Great Singapore Sales is only a few months away
