Last Night In Sydney

and I am EMO. And kinda broke. And totally not looking forward to packing and/or checking in my bags tomorrow considering the puny amount of weight I get to bring onboard for FREE.

I’m going to miss watching Master Chef in bed with my laptop and Facebook or at the table with some sort of random sucky dinner which makes the food featured in the show all the more mouth-watering. I’m going to miss waking up at 4 in the morning because it’s too cold even without any form of air-conditioning; not wanting to step out of the hot shower onto the cold tiled floor; wandering around in the suburbs and city, basking in the glory of the charming unkept ancient architecture.

Sigh. I wish I lived in Sydney :(

I guess all good things have to come to an end. I hope to come back some day! With more time. And more money :P

Oh! And with better skin *fingers crossed* The cold weather somehow made my face break out like I’ve just hit puberty wth. And I’m like freaking 20 for goodness sake!

I think I’ve probably done enough in Australia. Walked, talked, jogged, shopped, window shopped, thrifted (or tried to), hiked, climbed, panted, hurt my right knee, laughed, ate, cooked, caught up with people, shivered, slept very little, overslept, laughed, trained, bussed and the list goes on and on.

Of course, I took a lot of touristy photos at the famed Sydney Opera House. Like this one, courtesy of my BESTEST BUDDY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD, Elaine Yong Xiao Lei, who’s just as bad at taking photos as she is at estimating walking distance and time :P

Okay this is the closest to a touristy shot that I have. It’s pretty touristy, except my eyes are closed and I look like I’m in pain and about to die, which I bet, is how most tourists feel when they’re, you know, touring. I was, afterall, EXHAUSTED from walking all the way there from Darling Harbour.

So that’s probably the closest to a tourist shot that I have. The other photos are pretty awesome. Like this:

Not bad huh?

Bah. Now I need to continue packing. Or stuffing my bags and sitting on them to zip up. And pray that I won’t be TOO overweight tomorrow T_T

And Cath was right, Sydney Uni IS beautiful! Along with 87284793 other buildings here.

Envy is me.

That’s all!

I Miss The Fringe

Of Swollen Eyes and Feet

While waiting for my inbox to turn from 76 to 77, hopefully with an indication that I’ll no longer be homeless in Sydney, I shall entertain you with some photos from Singapore :)

Before that, if by any chance you know anyone in Sydney who is able to provide me with a bed, bathroom, 4 walls and a ceiling, or if you happen to be that person him/herself, please let me know! Thanks!

Anyway, I think the stars must have lined themselves in my world when the first day of the Great Singapore Sale turned to be on a public holiday! Or maybe Singapore just wanted more people to flood their country for the sale, hence the date for the first day of sales (have you noticed that the currency exchange rate is slowly rising again??? Booo). And it started a whole 2 weeks before my finals some more! How perfect is that? (No, seriously, the timing is perfect)

So on the first day of sales I prowled the streets of Bugis and Orchard with Pat, Yin Qian and E Qian. It was such a weird combination because we don’t usually hang out with each other (except for Pat Pat) but it turned out to be pretty fun!

By the end of the day it was quite clear that everyone had different priorities in crossing the border. Yin Qian’s was quite obviously food :P ; E-Qian’s was to just walk around (seriously she didn’t buy a single thing!); Pat’s was to check out his own reflection whenever there was a mirror (and to check out other guys when there wasn’t any); and mine was to shop until everyone dropped! Which they almost did by the end of the day.

After a much drama-filled journey to Singapore we finally got to Bugis, where we had lunch at this casual eatery place (for lack of a better term) called Empire State in Iluma (which was built on a budget of 100 million (wth) according to Wikipedia). I wasn’t expecting the food to be great because the whole place looked very commercialised but I was very pleasantly surprised when our food came :)

I ate there twice more in the next 2 weeks :P

The VERY BUFF Patrik Ho

P5285168

The Photogenic E-Qian (this is according to a very annoying camera store owner who kept forcing me to buy rechargeable batteries from him)

P5285180

My food! I ordered pork ribs with mashed potatoes (which would be more enjoyable if it didn’t taste as piggish wth)

P5285182

Yin Qian ordered the same thing, but with fries. I’m still trying to find that salad dressing they used! It’s like a tangy-olive-oily thingy.

P5285181

E-Qian with a very happy Pat who just found the perfect place for him!

P5285172

Really big potato salad that looked nothing like Patrik’s imfamous one (thank goodness)

P5285176

Yin Qian looking very pleased with his dish

P5285185

Oh! The dessert was very good. The brownie and ice cream were served on a hot plate! How creative!

After lunch we walked around Bugis and by the time it was time to hit Orchard Road it was already past 6! Didn’t do much shopping at Orchard because everyone (else) was so tired but we had a pretty good dinner at TCC (some coffee connoisseur place) which had a buy 1 get 2 free deal. So dinner was relatively cheaper :)

P5285209

Someone’s very nice looking chicken. Which I don’t think I tried so I can’t remember what it’s called or how it tastes like.

P5285202

E-Qian’s pasta with salmon which she said taste like Maggi because of the egg :P

P5285201

Loving housemates who insult each other at every chance :) Awww

P5285194

My eyes were already red and painful by that time (stupid contacts)

P5285192

My Nougat drink which was a bit too diluted :(

P5285189

Yin Qian and his coffee drink which had some liquor which he enjoyed very much

P5285208

My pretty awesome beef stew

P5285206

OMG I LOOK SO CREEPY HERE

P5285198

Yin Qian’s pasta, which also had salmon I THINK (omg I suck at blogging about food) (actually not really, just food that aren’t impressive enough *cough cough*)

After dinner I still wanted to shop (WHAT! I’VE BEEN SAVING ALL MY MONEY AND ENERGY FOR THIS FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH OKAY) but everyone was too tired and the shops were closing so we headed home.

Okay last photo because I want to show you my awesome harem pants which I love but they make my legs look short :(

P5285187

That’s all!

Outta Shape

Nice photo by Catherine.

Oh! And I’m HOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Woohoo! It’s been 4 months since I’ve been back. And nothing in Miri has changed. Bleh. Except Bintang Plaza looks SLIGHTLY better now. But I have no reason to go there since I’ve been to Singapore 4 times in the past 3 weeks and spent enough (too much, actually).

Don’t really feel like blogging now so I’ll come back with a proper photo post! Hopefully with photos I haven’t posted on Facebook.

That’s all!

Cya!

Happy holidays people (to those who are having their holidays now I mean)!

Hi Topman Please Hire Me

as your endorser because I really like your jackets. And no, I don’t want to be your shop assistant because that would only entitle me to 20% discount on regular priced items and that wouldn’t be good enough for me because your jackets are kinda expensive :(

Please approve my application and start showering me with free clothing terima kasih wth.

This is my application photo.

Okay now I need to bitch.

So a while ago (more than a month already?!) when I was in KL I shopped a bit at Sunway Pyramid and bought a coat similar to the one in the above photo. It looked pretty much the same except it’s navy blue and the cutting is a little less bell-bottomy. It was on the SALE rack and I thought I was quite lucky to get it for half its original price because I’d always wanted a coat like that! I hesitated a bit because it was quite pricey but finally bought it anyway because I really loved it.

After that I starved for a month and the coat became too big for me that I looked like a rat in a queen sized quilt whenever I wore it wth.

Nah. Just kidding.

ANYWAY, I paid 50% of RM 433 for it so that’s RM 216.50.

Lo and behold, when I was in Singapore for the Great Singapore Sale (which manages to live up to its title) I saw this black coat and it was only S$49 (RM 110ish)!!!! I would’ve gotten it in a heartbeat had I not bought the other coat but too bad I HAD bought the other coat =.= Both coats looked super similar  but since I couldn’t find the other one to compare, I told myself that they’re very much different and that the one I bought was probably thicker/nicer/newer/cleaner/more desirable/perfect already why still need to compare wth. Besides, I’d found the navy blue one (which I bought) at Bugis Junction the week before and it was S$129 (RM300ish) so I thought that maybe it really is a really different jacket in terms of quality but very similar in terms of appearance.

Today I went to Bugis Junction again and found out the price of the coat I bought has been slashed to S$49.

!%$#@%^!#@%^$!#@^%!$@^%$!@&^$!&#%!&^$%

FML.

HOW CAN THEY JUST SLASH 80 DOLLARS LIKE THAT WITHIN A WEEK’S TIME WHEN THE SALE HAS JUST STARTED??

And they still had my size some more!

I can’t believe I had to pay more than RM100 extra (even though I really love the coat) for ONE piece of clothing =.= Which I haven’t even worn yet T____T

So, the moral of the story is… don’t go shopping during the first week of sales. Shop when it’s about to end! Who cares if they don’t have your size anymore? Just buy as long as they’re as cheap as they can get wth

I am so heartbroken thinking about the things I could’ve done with the extra RM100 (like spending it on a whole week of meals!).

But I’ll get over it.

But I will be forever scarred wth.

Meanwhile, I’ll post more in-the-fitting-room photos. Who knew I still had the camwhore-in-the-fitting-room-with-things-you-probably-can’t-afford skills?!

The room had very good lighting so it was an awesome photo day!

P6045323

Another shot of the S$49 coat. I still kinda want it but I’ve spent enough on myself :( SO MY DEAREST KIND READERS WHO FEEL THE URGE TO BE NICE TO ME YOU MAY DROP BY THE NEAREST TOPMAN STORE TO GRAB ME THIS PIECE OF FINE CLOTHING TENKIU

P6045325

Another photo with the same outfit because one must always utilise good photo days to its full potential!

P6045326

I bought this jacket. It went from S$119 to S$29. WHO CAN RESIST???

P6045327

Another photo of me in the same jacket. Apparently Niyi has been eyeing this jacket for quite some time and was willing to fork out RM300 to get it! Such a steal this is :P

(I am not going back to Topman for 2 months in case they slash the price to S$9 =.=)

(Okay now you may delete the image of this jacket because you’ll be seeing it again very soon, and repeatedly)

P6045329

I got this one too…… My first formal jacket that I can wear to formal functions!!!

Okay not really my first formal jacket but it’s the first one that is formal enough for formal events and has a cut that fits my body type and shoulder pads (all at the same time woohoo wth)! I really love the suits at G2000 but they could easily cost up to RM600 usually so……….. this is quite reasonable :D

P6045328

Oh and the polo tee is also from Topman (only S$19 ;) but I didn’t get it because I’m not a big fan of polo tees) and the pants I love love love too!

Okay that’s all.

Dear Topman please consider me seriously. I will be a very good endorser :P
