1. My student visa has been processing for way too long. At first I was worried but now I’m just annoyed. If the reason for the delay is a problem with my health, I should’ve been notified long ago when the results were back. No one should be so irresponsible to leave a patient lingering around uninformed about a pathological chest x-ray finding or a positive infectious disease screen. If it’s any other reason then someone in the department needs a quick dose of adrenaline.
Update: I got my visa!
2. Year 5 is sometimes stressful because there are many things expected of us to achieve or know by this stage. Somehow after office hours we’ve managed to find time, company and the will for long dinners with a round of dessert after. Last Sunday we drove all the way to Teluk Jawa for seafood. The road was bumpy, unconventional and wrongly painted at times but it was a good roadtrip. The seafood wasn’t the greatest, attributable to more than the unfortunate fact that I am allergic to most shellfish, but the dinner was good nonetheless.

3. Part of the reason we’ve been going out for long dinners with a second round of dessert is because Yu Xiang and Chia Yin are leaving for their elective in Melbourne tomorrow. During the dinner at Banafee Village two nights ago YX and I coincidentally wore matching outfits – grey sweater/tee with electric blue pants.
It was kind of awkward and funny at the same time and I thought it wouldn’t happen again but today we wore somehow matching b&w striped shirts to Carabao -.-
4. Grill Bar has some pretty awesome desserts. Their Chocolate Lava cake has been one of the best desserts I’ve had this year and was enough to make me make a mental note to try their mains at least once before I leave.
5. A good photo of Sarah and I
6. 2 years ago I remember being so petrified to poke patients with a needle I laid off doing venepunctures until late that year, just a month or two before the logbook was due. 2 years later, I find myself digging a patient’s flesh with a needle in search of a vein for some fresh blood. I’m glad to say that I’ve somehow progressed, much thanks to the A&E Department. Bunked a few branulas but succeeded a few more. Know where to place the ECG leads and did CPR on a real patient. Much more to learn, much more to do. But let’s not rush things.
7. I like this photo of myself
8. And this one too
That’s all!
Cya!
