This is the second post for the series of random food adventures we have had and are going to have! The first one happened some 3 months ago but hopefully the next one would be sooner than that. *fingers crossed*
Disclaimer: The above paragraph has been typed 3 months ago. The next one will definitely not be ‘sooner’.

I’m only blogging about this for 2 reasons:
a) I think Sam and Nick would want to steal the photos but they probably haven’t even realized it.
b) I’m trying to trick myself into being happy again wth because today has been THE WORST DAY OF THE FREAKING YEAR!
Remember I said something about blogging with different personalities? Well, I’m going to be Mr. Sunshine today
As in the just-right-and-not-radiating-too-much-heat type of Mr. Sunshine.

Although it’s been quite long, I still remember the day ever so vividly. In fact, it was such a perfect day it’s the only thing I ever think about ever since the clock struck 12 that night because I miss it so, so dearly. Oh! When will that day be replaced by another fabulously awesome one? I don’t know when but.. I know.. there will come a day.. because I’M MR SUNSHINE wth.
But for now, I shall treasure memories from that day forever in my heart. A day where pretty little birds were happily chirping away in the skies, where the clouds were waving gaily at the sea of humans watching them, where troubles seem to be a complete stranger to everyone, where I could sing like the male version of Leona Lewis wth.
So the day started off with me waking up at 8.45 with the help of one mere alarm and zero snoozes because I was too excited for the random food outing. No way was I going to let my sleepiness interfere with what seemed to be a perfect plan! And by 9 am I had already landed my perfectly shaped buttock (only when I’m Mr Sunshine, nonexistent butt when I’m not wth) on the perfectly smooth and oh-so-inviting-to-butt-cheeks-and-chewing-gum bench behind the guardhouse, waiting for BFFae (Sam) and BFF.O2 (Nick) to arrive.
And 5 minutes later, THEY ARRIVED! Late, well, yes. But THEY ARRIVED! Like they say, better late than never! *strikes hand-on-hip pose and gives off beauty-queen-whose-feet-just-got-stepped-on-but-is-still-trying-to-stay-poised smile* And best of all, they arrived in perfect shape and looking oh-so-jolly!
Aren’t we such an exciting and excited bunch of BFFs?
After that, we carried out our ritual – the BFFs ROLE CALL!
*cheerleader persona turned on*
Me & Sam : Hey you! *points to Nick*Introduce yourself!
Nick: No way!
Me & Sam: Introduce yourself!
Nick: OKAY!
My name is Nicholas,
I’m so Fa-Bu-LOUS,
And when girls see me,
They glue their eyes all over me.
Now on to you Samantha!
Me & Nick: Hey you! *points to Sam* Introduce yourself!
Sam: No way!
Me & Nick: Introduce yourself!
Sam: OKAY!
My name’s Samantha,
And I ain’t yo momma,
But when I shake it,
You better find that first aid kit.
Shabooyah! Sha-sha-shabooyah roll call!
Sam & Nick: Hey you! *points to me* Introduce yourself!
Me: No way!
Sam & Nick: Introduce yourself!
Me: No way!
Sam & Nick: OKAY!
And we got onto BFF’s car and drove off to our destination
Actually we weren’t too sure where we were headed either but what’s there to worry? I mean, what does the word ‘worry’ even mean??? How do people do such a thing called worrying? Mr Sunshine ain’t got a clue yo about worrying wth.
The only thing we knew was that we wanted to eat char siew fan (suggested by moi) and that it was somewhere in Cheras, past Pudu Prison, after a Shell petrol station, in some wooden shack. Sounds like a lot of info, doesn’t it? So easy to find, right? There’s like only one petrol station and one wooden shack in the whole KL city anyway.
Then again, what’s there to worry about? Getting lost? That’s not what we do! Pffft.
So we passed Pudu Prison, looked left and looked right, accidentally entered some unknown tunnel, took a random left turn, impulsively took a right turn, saw Jalan NICHOLAS…

This photo has been photoshopped, I swear on my pet chameleon’s life
Then we went straight and saw a few wooden shacks, one of which sold chicken rice. It was at that very moment of time, we decided if we couldn’t find the char siew fan shack, we would settle for chicken rice (which I hate but oh well).
We circled the area but still couldn’t find it so we decided to go back to the wooden shack which sold chicken rice.
Found a parking spot, got down the car and got seated at the wooden shack which sells chicken rice.
AND THEN WE SMELT CHAR SIEW. Freshly charred char siew. Okay, more like in-the-middle-of-being-charred char siew, but still char siew nonetheless.
We were so happy all three of us flew to the sky and kissed the clouds to thank them for the wonderful weather and luck. When we got back to the grounds we ordered our brunch.

BFF looking happy, while waiting for our food.

Nick looking happy, while waiting for our food wth why am I so un-creative at captions?

DROOL PEOPLE DROOL!!! I think this was Nick’s order. He ordered char siew only because he loves to eat his own kind pork.

I think this was mine… I don’t know why I ordered the roasted chicken drumstick either, but it was pretty good

Lalalala… simple yet scrumptious meal.

Surprise surprise! Even BFF finished everything she ordered. I don’t think it’s necessary to mention that SHE GAVE NICK HALF HER BOWL OF FRAGRANT RICE.

The place looks totally unattractive la but the food it served was quite heavenly.
The char siew was grilled to perfection – slightly burnt (okay this might not sound heavenly but sometimes slightly burnt food taste better okay!) on the outside and succulent on the inside.
Okaylah I suck at describing food so the end wth.
And I’m getting too long-winded so I’ll just simply write the rest of the entry wth so much for trying to be Mr Sunshine wth.
Then we went to Taipan and ended up at Leo’s, which sells food that are not worth shouting about la. So here are some photos:

Nick and his gelato.

Gelato without his Nick wth. By the way, gelato basically just means ice cream in Italian. Some stupid tv show conned me into believing gelato is some super sticky sort of ice cream that you need to pull and pull to have a proper scoop.

My gelato. And have I mentioned that gelato has twice the amount of sugar as normal ice cream??? GIMME MORE!!

BFF admiring the drink I ordered.

It was like coffee with peppermint gelato. When you pour bubbling hot coffee on top of a glass stuffed with gelato in the middle, it slowly melts the gelato and flows to the bottom of the glass, mixing the coffee taste and peppermint fragrance of the gelato. It tasted like coffee with peppermint wth.

Was this my curry mee? Not that awesome
After Leo’s we went to SS15 for ais kacang and went home. Lalala.

Final group shot. I look horrible here.

Another group shot. I think it’s BFF’s best shot.

Another group shot wth.
That’s all!
XOXO
