and I will repeat myself over and over and over again until everyone in the entire universe knows that I MADE A SHIRT FROM SCRATCH wth.
Nah. Just kidding. I think.
Actually I’ve already posted it on Facebook lah buttt…. I need to post it on my blog too because I feel like a celebrity wth *puts on sunglasses to avoid being blinded by imaginary flashing lights wth*
And errr.. the aforementioned shirt looks like this:
Hahaha it’s very bad tailoring
But oh well, I just learnt to use the sewing machine like 2 days before I started working on it
The sleeves are super cacat too cuz I cut them wrongly so I had to squeeze my brain juice dry to figure out how to attach them to the shirt =.=
But I think it looks pretty good on me
And most of my friends think so too so hooray!

Okay, so it all started with this sketch:
Okay I know I’m damn horrible at drawing so DON’T JUDGE ME.
It was supposed to look very marching band-ish because I’m currently infatuated with them marching band jackets
But I can’t find them anywhere and I bet they’d be really expensive anyway so I decided to make my own
I know I’m super ambitious and borderline crazy but oh well, I’ve had experience painting on t-shirts before *cough cough* (oh yeah like that helped).
So… I kinda knew I needed to draw the parts of the shirt on paper first before transferring them onto actual cloth. So I went out and bought some mahjong paper which is probably the silliest thing to do because mahjong paper is so flimsy and tears so easily (but I think it’s what tailors use tho o.O).
I mapped out the shirt based on my own measurements and I totally confused myself! Haha. I added a few inches here and there and left out a few inches here and there, all the while thinking “I’ll just cut the cloth more later la”. Which is stupid. Because by the time I started cutting the cloth, I’d already forgotten where to cut more and where less.
Moral of the story is.. BE CONSISTENT!
Drawing the shirt’s entire “frame” on paper is like the most difficult thing to do =.=
But once that’s done, the other steps are pretty easy. Just need to transfer everything onto the cloth
And I drew using a pencil on the cloth also because it’s so much more convenient! But apparently it won’t wash off o.O Let’s hope it does *crosses fingers*
Oh attaching the pieces of cloth together is hardwork too =.= And I kinda suck at it. But I’m getting better at using the sewing machine
Although none of the stitches have been a straight line and I have failed to make any two ends meet without force-stretching the cloth.. but it’s all better now
I’ve made 2 more trial shirts and I’m almost done with my 1st proper one
Which still sucks but I’m gonna wear it out once I’m done with it!
I’ll post photos of the proper shirt once I’m done with it
I’ll post one more photo of this first shirt because I’m generous like that wth
That’s all!
Cya!
XOXO

Gosh, I’m PSYCHIC. Hey, the design’s pretty nice *shocked*
Tho it does look…unfinished.
But good job overall. I couldn’t even figure out how to use a needle, what more to sew.
Did u take the pic in black n white to cover the flaws? lol.
It’s awesome la that u can make ur own clothes. But in my case, i think the tailor does a more terrific job
Me: If I could find a tailor who would do it for me cheap then I wouldn’t even think twice of doing it myself! I have zero tailoring skills! But I bet they’d charge me a bomb to actually make my *ahem* complicated designs, so yeah. It’s a good skill to embody, not that I have. But I’ll keep working on it so I can save more money and spend on other necessities!
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
make more!
Me: I am! Just made one more
Gonna start drawing out another one soon. I hope
