Citrus

My sister thinks those little Santas look cute but I think they look creepy.

Anyway, so this afternoon my sis and I went for lunch at Citrus, which is one of the very few restaurants that serve decent western food here in Miri. In my opinion, at least.

It’s a very simple restaurant that serves simple food at reasonable prices and I love restaurants like that. Yes, I do.

Okay I don’t know why am I reviewing this place all of a sudden but whatever, I just feel like doing it.

I’ve been here quite a number of times previously and I usually order their Fish and Chips because I love crunchy breaded boneless fish! Actually I think I only eat fish fillets. I don’t seem to like any other type of fish-related dishes (eg. steamed fish/fish curry/fish balls etc). And my favourite burger in the entire world is SugarBun’s Fish Burger hahaha although it’s like the simplest burger in the world.

This time I ordered a pasta though.

Linguine Carbonara

Honestly, I don’t think Carbonaras can EVER look good in photos! But it tasted pretty good And the portion was okay too. There was a good balance between cream and cheese and egg (you use those to make carbonara sauce right? o.O) which is the MOST important element in a carbonara pastas okay! Once someone (I think it was Nick) ordered this carbonara from this random stall and it tasted like milk powder*gags*. So yeah, I was relieved it didn’t taste like milk powder with salt. The linguine was a little overcooked though.

My sister ordered this macaroni and beef in tomato sauce which was HUGE. It was a tad bland though

My caramel milkshake I LURRRRRRRRVEEEEE THEIR MILKSHAKES! *slurps* Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, caramel, all of them! It’s so hard to find good milkshakes these days I don’t know why

Oh! I probably wasn’t thinking when I ordered my food cuz everything was super creamy =.= My sister and I shared a cream of mushroom some more..

It’s not awesome but at least I could see the mushrooms lol. It was only 6 bucks tho!

Yeah, my meal was super creamy la. So I was like.. eeee.. so jelak halfway into my pasta. But I finished everything anyway

I think I’ll just go back for their Fish and Chips next time la. Oh! And their calamari rings. They’re pretty good And they’re served with wasabi haha wth what a weird combination right but it works!

Maybe I should start experimenting with random food combinations too! But first I’ll need to learn to cook.

ps. I used the ‘pin hole’ effect for most of the photos because I think I’m starting to love this effect. It’s so.. effortless. And I still suck at using my camera so if I were to adjust everything myself the food would’ve been mouldy wth by the time I’m done.
