Oh Dear

Hi my name is Terence and I come from Malaysia.

Where?

Do you know where Thailand and Singapore are? Malaysia’s right in the middle.

Oh! I almost forgot. It’s also where some people tried to burn Christian churches after the Courts of Appeal allowed the use of the WORD ‘Allah’ in  a Christian newsletter. Some people as in Muslim extremists.

Honestly, if I weren’t a Malaysian I would laugh myself silly upon reading that.

I don’t know how this even became an issue. Why are they fighting over a name? WHY??! It’s not like anyone’s even MISusing it.

Sigh. I really can’t believe this atrocity. And I really hope these so-called religious people would stop misusing religion to justify their wrongdoings. We all know very well it’s not their religion that tells them to, it’s their own nefarious intentions and their lack of brainpower to interpret their religion’s teachings accurately.

Good thing these extremists are only a minority of the Muslim population. We should really stop generalising the entire population based on a biased sample because that’s only going to blow up more than just hard feelings.

Everything’s at an early stage now so I just hope it gets resolved. Otherwise, things are going to get REALLY ugly. Really, REALLY ugly.

I guess the whole 1Malaysia crap can only truly start after this. And they better succeed in that department. Otherwise, all we have to be proud of as Malaysians will be nasi lemak and Mount Kinabalu.

Not that that‘s bad but we’re so much more than just that.
