Holidays are going to end in a week and I’ll be leaving to JB really soon. Which means I need to start packing, which I hate doing. And I’ll be carless when I reach JB. How great! That means I’ll have to trouble someone to ferry me around. Which I hate even more =.=
I honestly don’t know what I was thinking when I booked my tickets so early. I think I was just too bored being cooped up at home. But now I don’t feel like going to JB anymore. Downloaded the orientation week timetable a few days ago and *yawns* I am not excited anymore about Year 3. I’m just going to keep my expectations really really low to save myself from any disappointment.
I’ve been bumming around for most of my too-short holiday and although I wished I’d been more productive most of the time, I realise that I actually do enjoy bumming. A lot, actually.
For some reason, I think I had some quarter life crisis and wanted to try to do so many things once the holidays started. Things that I ambitiously planned to attempt doing this holiday include:
1) Making my own shirts - check!
Okay they were pretty futile attempts because none of the shirts I’ve made are actually wearable. I mean, I can put them on and they look like shirts but I’m scared to wear them out because I’m scared that they’d fall apart. Which they probably will because I have such horrible sewing skills. Learnt to use the sewing machine in a day and didn’t have much practice before I started sewing my own shirts so they came out pretty bad. And I’m too lazy to make more because I need to draw and cut everything on my bedroom floor since I don’t have a proper workplace and doing that gives me major backaches =.=
This is a skill worth honing though.
2) Cooking – check!
Only tried doing it twice because I kept procrastinating and I only succeeded once but that’s pretty good already for me. I realise that I don’t enjoy cooking. AT ALL. But I’m glad I tried.
3) Revising – HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ROFLMAO WHAT WAS I THINKING?
Enough said wth.
4) Learning to play the piano – not checked.
Plan went down the drain.
5) Getting a part time job – not checked.
Didn’t work out because I was too picky. As much as I’d like to earn some pocket money, I wasn’t going to voluntarily torture myself by doing something that I didn’t like after slaving away in medical school for a freaking year! (Thanks to stupid CBP) The only places I’d voluntarily work at were either an education agency or an advertising firm or a clinic/hospital. But none of that worked out so yeah.. nyeh. Maybe next time.
6) Blogging more – check!
I think I’ve been updating my blog more frequently during the holidays! And I appreciate all the comments I’ve been getting so keep them coming please!
7) Picking up Photography – check!
My favourite pasttime at the moment (quite evidently)! Definitely going to keep venturing into it.
8 ) Reading more – not checked!
I read a total of zero novels. Boohoo. Should refrain myself from buying more books because I probably won’t have time to finish them.
9) Less shopping – check!
Bought super little for myself but spent quite a fair bit on Christmas presents for my family. Am quite pleased with myself
10) Stop being a potato – not checked!
Need to start exercising!
11) Traveling – errr.. check?
Flew back to KL to go down to JB to look for a place in mid-December. Then to KK early January. Should’ve planned earlier so could’ve done more. So yeah, something to keep in mind this year.
12) Learning Hokkien – not checked!
I didn’t make it past laughing at myself for sounding so cheesy wth.
***
Hey! I have 6/12 things checked! I’m pretty content with myself
Yay!
Now all I need to do is be a better medical student! Which shouldn’t be that hard right? I’ll just need to kiss every other coursemate’s ass and every lecturer’s ass and slave away on my books when I’m not kissing anyone’s ass and be more outspoken and more open-minded and kinder and more passionate and friendlier.
Sounds simple enough =.=
That’s all!
Cya!
Haha, I like the last bit. Congrats on your checked(s)! I’m so glad ur hols are ending (since i dun hv any)!
All the best for Year 3!! 2 more years of slaving! Ok lah…3 years.
piano? p-i-a-n-o?
woot woot!
hurray though it’s a soggy potato (went down the drain. geddit?) there. lol
