I haven’t abandoned my blog for that long, right? Well, it’s not that I don’t have anything to blog about, just that I’ve been feeling way too lazy to type anything down. Hehe. Right to this point, I think most of my posts are moderately (if not extremely) long and I still don’t feel like posting a new entry with 3 or 4 photos of a new shirt and a few lines saying "I LOVE MY NEW SHIRT BYE!" because I still feel that my blog is a sacred place. LOL.

Anyway, I have a lot of updates so I shall just squeeze them into this post so I bet this is going to be pretty long (just like the ones nobody ever reads even after visiting my blog for 5 times or so).

Update #1: I’ve wanted to post this up sometime ago but starting a new entry out of it would be like making a mountain out of a molehill, since it really isn’t such a big deal. I think.

SOMEONE ASKED ME THE FUNNIEST QUESTION EVER!!! A few days/week ago someone from another country (not telling where) asked me THE FUNNIEST QUESTION ever!

"Do you have macdonald in malay?"

No, you didn’t see that wrongly. By macdonald, he meant McDonald’s. And by malay, he meant Malaysia. This is even funnier than him asking me "You’re Chinese, and you’re in Malaysia?". I hope he doesn’t read my blog.

Sometimes I wonder if people really think we (Malaysians) live in trees. The love for McDonald’s is like… PANDEMIC okay? EVERYONE loves McD. Well, almost anyway. I could have easily lied to him that we have McDonald restaurants on top of trees and are only reachable if you used the lift. Climbing would take too much effort unless you’re a chimpanzee. AND I bet he would’ve believed me if I said since there are so many trees here with so much leaves, the Malaysian McD has a special drink called ‘DEW ON ICE’ because there’s just so much dew EVERYWHERE.

But of course, fooling a 15 year-old would only make myself look like a good-for-nothing-super-irritating 14 year-old.

Update #2: I haven’t received my offer letter yet. How sad. This just means that I can’t apply for the hostel placement yet since I haven’t even registered. Which is even more sad because I really don’t want to get a weird roommate. I checked my call logs and it seemed that they’ve already called me last Wednesday to inform me that they were sending it out but until now, I still haven’t received the official letter lor! I hope the courier service people aren’t planning to send it only after CNY which would be a TOTAL NIGHTMARE! I shall go and pester the not-so-efficient agent again in the morning.

4 days just seem so slow now that the orientation’s nearing and the intake is in February aka THIS FREAKING MONTH! Getting replies 2 weeks after application seemed so fast back when I was still sitting for my exams and was in no hurry to book tickets/get a room/start packing.

Nonetheless, I don’t want to fret too much because I’m quite comfortable worrying about things like ONLY HAVING A PAIR OF NEW JEANS FOR THE SEVEN DAYS OF CHINESE NEW YEAR!! (which is seriously no big deal at all)

EDIT: I just got a call saying that they’re only sending the letter to me TODAY. Hopefully it’ll arrive tomorrow. Thank you Mr. Postman in advance!

Update #3: I GOT NEW SHOES! Hahaha. I’m just uber happy that I actually found shoes that I like that aren’t overpriced. They weren’t exactly cheap, but they were definitely quite worth it to say the least. Don’t feel like posting photos of them up yet because I’m not that bored (when I start posting photos of them from every angle from 0 degree to 359, then you’d know the reason hahaha). But seriously, THEY WERE ON A 50% SALE!! WHERE CAN YOU FIND ADIDAS SHOES WHICH ARE 50% OFF?? (scrape out pasar malam, and ps. not that the brand matters that much anyway) And they’re really comfy, unlike the B.U.M shoes I got, which I still think are fake although the boss/shopkeeper gave me a long story of how they bought the company blah blah blah. And that doesn’t matter either because the shoes are nice. Hahaha.

Update #4: I think Miri has the CHEAPEST CONTACT LENSES in the whole country! I bought 2 pairs of colour contacts for only RM28 each yesterday! So cheap right??? They’re FreshKon’s, though. I normally buy FreshLook contacts because there’s this one shop that sells them for RM43 and they’re on that forever-going ‘Buy 2 Free 1′ offer. So if people tell you that the best price they can give you is RM50 with the ‘Buy 2 Free 1′ offer, THEY’RE FLAT OUT LYING TO YOU! I’m still stocking up some FreshLook contacts for KL though. For those of you who’ve always wanted to get colour contacts but never had the guts to do it, start with ‘FreshLook’s Brown’ because it’s a really nice colour and it looks very natural. But if you already have very brown eyes (which I don’t *sour*) then don’t bother wearing brown coloured contacts. AND PUH-LEASE, if you have DARK skin, please do not attempt GREEN or BLUE because it’ll seriously make you look like a vampire/some form supernatural creature unless you’re super confident you would look like Tyra Banks (fat chance).

Update #5: Speaking of contact lenses, I remember wearing them for 20 hours EVERY DAY during last year’s Science Camp. I only took them off when I was sleeping (which was like.. for 3 hours??) and had to put them on the whole time I needed my vision because my glasses were broken! It’s amazing that I didn’t get an eye infection (not complaining bout it *touch wood*).  As usual, I was browsing through all the photos in my laptop and found a video I made regarding the Science Camp. Which was really fun and very camp-ish in every way although it was at a Tea Garden instead of a challenging naked forest. Anyway, I’ve uploaded the video on Vimeo (because the quality’s so much be

Update #6: Speaking of camps, my former school, Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang, organized a camp for the students who got straight A’s for PMR last year in Similajau (I jump from topic to topic so smoothly, don’t I?). I think it was only for PPIK (Persatuan Pelajar-pelajar Islam Kolej) members, though. And something tragic happened. According to Nisa, 3 students were found missing; one was found and was hospitalized, one was found dead yesterday evening and the other is still missing.

"They were jungle trekking. It was already at the final point then they went into the water. The current was strong. The one who survived hung onto a tree root."

2008 had only just begun and there’re already so many news to fill the obituary pages in the papers. First it was Heath Ledger’s shocking sudden death, then there was the bus crash and now there’s this traumatizing event.

At some point it all feels as if Final Destination has become more than just a movie.

Deepest sympathy and condolences to those who’ve lost their loved ones. *stops self from saying a series of sad and scary things*

I can’t think of anything else to say because there really isn’t that much that can be done to repair the damage now. All we can do is to prevent it from happening again. And we MUST do that.

When I post this up it’s probably going to be February 2008(It’s still 31 January today). Which means it’s been officially more than 2 months since I’ve graduated! From my one year A-Levels course, in case you were wondering. I’ve finally finished editing all the photos and trust me, there are TONS of them. Sorry to all the dial-up users and if you’re using Digi’s Pay-As-You-Use plan, please leave before you go totally broke and bonkers, because trust me, it happened to me once.

Now that I have finally gotten my official results statement and made sure that there was no spelling error in my grades, I can finally seal this chapter in life and get ready to move on. (Because I’ve been so paranoid about the possibility of having to repeat my A-Levels, I hadn’t bothered to post this up because it would be so weird to still be in the same place if I had declared that I have emancipated from the school wth)

But now I’M FREE I’M FREE I’M FREE I’M FREE! At least for another few weeks. Ooo. And I dyed my hair too wth.

This year has been bittersweet. As I look back at all the photos (which, I must say is a HELL lot. compiled in the ‘YSC Science Camp’ folder alone are 3GB of photos!!) the memories come flooding back and it feels almost ironic that a year+a month ago today, I had never heard of Institut Sinaran (which is where I graduated from) before.

Okay, before I go all super duper emo and start blogging so emo-ish-ly and use words that are so hair-raising, I better start inserting photos.

I’ve been so ignorant for way too long.

I don’t normally read any news and even if I DO go to Google News, normally I’ll just turn a blind eye on all the riots and chaos in this world and just skip right through to the ‘Entertainment’ section.

I don’t care if VK Lingam’s really bribing anyone with whatsoever because for all you know, everyone’s probably doing the same. There’s really nothing surprising about the act itself. The only thing worth the news is the fact that it was actually CAUGHT ON TAPE and is being spread all over the internet.

And too bad Edison Chen’s sex scandal with Gillian Chung/Bobo Chan got splattered all over the net because again, for all you know, thousands of other people were probably having sex and filming it down that time, just that nobody bothered to hack into their cameras/computers. OMG that came off so wrong.

But I seriously can’t not care about the bus crash at Slim River which took away another 3 innocent lives.

Family mourns loss of beautiful, intelligent go-getter

PENANG: She had the world at her feet but death robbed medical student Lee Nian Ning of a brilliant future. 

The straight As student, former state swimmer and accomplished Girl Guide was on the double-decker express bus from Penang to Kuala Lumpur which crashed near Slim River on Friday. 

Nian Ning, 21, a Public Service Department (PSD) scholar at the University of New South Wales in Australia who was on her way to visit friends in Kuala Lumpur, was among three passengers who perished when the driver lost control of the bus and slammed into a divider.

It’s at a time like this when I count my blessings because it could have just been anyone I knew.

SOMETHING needs to be done. What infuriates me the most is why the bus driver was even allowed to drive in the first place. IT (the driver) had not one, not two, not three, (this could go on forever) BUT THIRTEEN FREAKING SUMMONSES AGAINST HIM! Gee, I didn’t know the more summonses you get, the more efficient are your driving skills. So efficient indeed, rumour has it that the driver even had time to SMS while speeding at the same time.

OMG I’m getting worse at choosing titles. Delta Goodrem is not another Britney Spears wannabe? Lol. That’s only like the lamest title I’ve ever chosen for my blog post! (Although I only have err 15 posts but still, it is very lame) But whatever. I’m not going to change it. Bleh.

Today I have chosen to blog about none other than…… *drumrolls* …..

And the reason I’m doing this is because I feel that I don’t talk about her enough (only enough to make everyone groan and roll their eyes every time I mention her name) so it is only fair that I blog about her today! It’s not my fault that I talk about her way over the limit because she just has that effect on people. You don’t see Jessica Alba’s fans talking about her 24/7 (because they spend too much time drooling over her hot bod) and you don’t see Tom Cruise’s fans talking about him all day long (because he scared most of them away by erratically jumping on Oprah’s couch, I bet) but I’M 99% SURE THAT MOST, IF NOT ALL, DELTA FANS TALK ABOUT HER SO MUCH THAT IT ANNOYS THE HECK OUT OF PEOPLE WHO AREN’T HER FANS.

Some people like to compare Delta and Britney but the only thing they have in common is probably their hair colour (brunette turned blonde and vice versa). And maybe their taste in men (I’m not being sour).

Delta Goodrem, 23, was born in some state in Australia and grew up in some state in Australia. (My Geography stinks) Yes, that makes Delta Goodrem a totally patriotic Aussie who is only popular in Australia. FOR NOW. No, I’m not trying to blast her here.

Before I start explaining why I totally adore Delta and why you should too, let me just give you a few fast facts.

1. Delta Goodrem is an Australian artiste who has sold over 2.5 million albums worldwide according to Wikipedia. In Australia alone, the number exceeds 1000000 (look at all the zeroes!) and this is totally not surprising because from her official forums, I found out that most of her fans would buy at least 3 copies of the SAME ALBUM and some even buy up to TEN COPIES OF THE SAME THING! This is because they need a copy for their car, another for their living room, another for the cd player in the bedroom, one copy just in case the other copy gets scratched, another to be given out to their friends so that they can share the love for Delta together et cetera. THIS IS NOT FICTIONAL.

She’s not exactly the tallest girl on earth but still, 178 cm is already really tall for a girl imo. And she wears like 4 inch heels wth.

3. Delta was born on 9 November, the same date as one of my friends, so it’s very easy for me to remember/forget both their birthdays.

4. At the peak of her career, at the age of 18, on July 8 (according to one of her songs) Delta was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of cancer that attacks the immune system. Again, the date is another friend’s birthday wth.

5. Apart from having the talk-about-me-all-day-long effect on people, Delta’s songs have this put-me-on-repeat-forever-and-ever effect on people as well. I remember 2 years ago, after watching her performance on the Commonwealth Games, I downloaded ‘Together We Are One’ and just played the same song over and over again every time my computer was on. That went on for a week I think. Lol. Everyone in the house got so annoyed by that song I bet.

For those who didn’t know, I actually grew up listening to her songs wth. Okay so it may not sound very logical to actually ‘grow up’ listening to songs by someone who’s only 6 years older but it IS true!

The first time I heard about Delta, it was all the way back in 2003 when I was only 13 and still very childish and would laugh at a friend who described her dad as being ‘hot TEMPERATURE’ instead of being ‘hot-tempered’ and then someone started the whole deal of calling her "Kalimantan English" (no offense) and that went on for quite some time. Hahaha. But that was 5 years ago. 5 years later, I’ve grown into a 17+8months super mature grown up who would forgive and not make a mountain out of a molehill even when people say ‘You was’ wth. LOL.

I’ve grown SO MUCH. And so had Delta! wth

I remember the first time I saw her on MTV, she looked like the average teen star trying to make it big in the music industry. I didn’t quite like her at first because she didn’t look very pretty wth she looked a little like a popstar wannabe and she sounded weird trying to hit a high note in her first single ‘Born To Try’ (it was completely in tune but still, it sounded kinda unpleasing to me). Ironically, if it weren’t for that song, I wouldn’t have discovered her and then come to like her as much as I do now. Also, it was that song that became her first number one single in Australia. She has EIGHT now. And still counting of course.

It was so hard to find her first album in Miri and I remember going to every mall here (there are only four but still…) and finally found it! Only the cassette though, (gosh that was so long ago wasn’t it? they don’t even have cassettes anymore now) and I was so so excited to have finally found it. Not to mention a bit shocked that they actually have it here. ‘Innocent Eyes’ was her first album and in Australia, it became her first #1 album, stayed there for TWENTY NINE (29) WEEKS or so and was certified FOURTEEN (14) TIMES PLATINUM!! It was also considerably successful in the UK, where it peaked at #2, only losing out to Beyonce’s ‘Dangerously In Love’ most probably because of the difference in the outfits they wore in their album covers.  Delta was wearing a demure brown babydoll-ish top …

While on the other hand, Beyonce was wearing ummmm…

Sex really does sell, doesn’t it?

Again, I recall the first time I talked about her with my friends, someone told me she had just been diagnosed with stomach cancer. Another someone told me it was Leukemia. Where do people get all the news anyway? It was Hodgkin’s disease la!

Of course, being a fan, I was really saddened by the news.

This is NOT the part where I send my condolences and start crying out loud *touch wood* because Delta survived cancer is very much alive now and MORE ALIVE than ever, whatever that means.

In fact, Delta was so great she released her 2nd album right after she recovered wth. I remember it came out around the time I was sitting for PMR and I would go to ninemsn everyday to listen to the songs that they pre-released instead of looking for PMR tips wth. Looking back, it was actually a good thing that they let us preview one new song per day or else I would have just stuck my ears to the speakers the whole day and do nothing else.

My personal favourite from the album (and of all time) is a song called ‘Fragile’ which helped me through the sickest and most awful days, which accompanied me when I cried on my keyboard (just kidding. I’m too happy a person to cry about my miserable life wth), which got me made me feel like I’m not alone when I so am and vice versa wth.

It disappointed me a little that the album didn’t do as well as her first album and I think it’s solely because of the single choices. The album has so many fantastic songs but I still have no idea why so many people totally overrated the title single ‘Mistaken Identity’ to the point that she actually released it as a single. Okay, so maybe it was her favourite song on the album? Anyway, everyone LOVED the song so much that EVERYONE FORGOT TO BUY IT WHEN IT CAME OUT. So much for loving it to the very maximum level of love. *rolls eyes* Unfortunately, her streak of #1 singles got broken and the single didn’t even make it to the Top 10. Which is why you should love her because despite being almost perfect, not all her singles reached Top 10.

You know when songs like The Ketchup Song and Macarena were first released, they reach #1 all around the world and then 5 years later, they get the same position on ‘The Most Annoying Songs Of All Time’. That will NEVER EVER happen to any Delta song!

I’m not kidding when I tell you that Delta’s songs are timeless classics. You can listen to her songs any time of the millennium and think they’re superb. Even when you’ve gotten sick of her songs after putting them on repeat 30 times a day, you’ll fall in love with them all over again in a different way after you listen to them again after some time. And the best part is, her songs won’t make you go all "OMFG I CAN’T BELIEVE I USED TO LIKE HER" because they’re just that great. Sometimes I think I should be her promoter or something.

However, when so many people like you, it is only logical that a lot of people would dislike you too. It’s just a ying and yang thing. When Delta tried to change her image JUST A WEE BIT, some loved it while others disregarded her as their idol once and for all. But I guess it’s their choice but in my opinion, PEOPLE CHANGE and that’s just the way of life. It’s not like she suddenly went cracko and decided to turn into a porn star and stop singing. It’s not like she stopped being an original and started copying lyrics off other singers’ songs. She still writes her own songs, composes her own melodies and the only thing that has changed was her fashion sense.

With the release of her third album simply titled as ‘Delta’, Delta has proved to be an all-rounder. She’s not just your pretty girl next door, she’s multi-talented and now, FASHIONABLE AND SIZZLING TOO wth.

If you still don’t know her yet, head over to the nearest record store and I can bet that you won’t be able to find her latest album! WHY THE HELL IS MALAYSIA SO SLOW?????? WHY IS IT NOT RELEASED HERE YET? OH WHYYYYYYYYYYY???

WHY THE HELL IS NOBODY REPLYING MY FREAKING MESSAGES ON MSN???!! I really hate it when people appear to be ‘Online’ on MSN but then never ever reply my messages and then suddenly appear to be offline and never re-sign in until a few hours later. IT’S SO FREAKING IRRITATING OKAY?? And it makes the whole situation look like I’m pestering people when that is SO.NOT.TRUE. Bleh.

I’m so totally bored now and am so tired of searching for scholarships online and pressing calculators to count the tuition fees because unfortunately, my never ending prayers for Malaysian Ringgit to be of the same value as Euro never got fulfilled. WHY AH? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY? And it’s so super duper hard to find medical scholarships and I swear the number of medical scholarships available is like NEXT TO ZERO. Again, WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY??? (I obviously know the answer to it but am still asking just to annoy you. Hmmph!)

And if you’re asking why am I doing it all by myself – the scholarship searching thing? IT’S BECAUSE THE EDUCATION CONSULTANTS IN MIRI ARE BULL CRAP SCAMMERS WHO DON’T KNOW DEADLINES ARE THERE TO BE ALTERED WTH. It’s because I’m independent la duh.

Maybe I shall just take one of the Architecture offers I have since they are actually enthusiastic enough to call me up and ask if I’m going to accept the offer. Which will then mean that there’s possibly going to be another leaning tower since I am unable to draw a single straight line.

Anyway, like I’ve mentioned before, I LOVE YOGUR BERRY. (wth I change topic like breathing out carbon dioxide)

It’s not just tasty (if you’re a yogurt fan like me, kinda), it’s healthy too! Look at all the fruits they gave me! (Damn those kiamsiap latenight-shift workers. Why give so little? It’s not like you own the place. Hmmph.) And for once, the skeptic in me actually believes what it’s advertised as – less fat, less calories blah blah blah – because I think it really is! Well, it is believable what! Unlike some other ice shop which claims that their ice is imported from some foreign country far far away and contains some sort of salt that can prevent/help/cure constipation and make your skin totally breathtaking and smooth which I think is just the smelliest bull crap around. Because if that’s true then ALL DOCTORS SHOULD JUST RETIRE AND EVERYONE SHOULD JUST GO AND EAT THEIR ICE EVERYDAY FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES.

Having said all that, YOGUR BERRY’S yogurt ice cream (is that what it is btw? ) tastes just as good as it looks! I didn’t even have to edit the photo to make it look more heavenly because I’m just lazy it already looks that good as it is!

Oh by the way, the girl on the left is ELAINE YONG who just dropped like 10 pounds and looks like she walked out of the latest Harper’s Bazaar’s Fashion Don’ts Do’s editorial. All you have to do is to make sure that you’re TALL, HOT, SMART, RICH AND LOVES HER MORE THAN ANYTHING.

All she wants now is to get into a good uni just like everyone else in their right mind and it’s obviously going to happen and I’m like so sick of having to tell her that EVERY SINGLE TIME. Bleh.

Since this post is so random, I might as well just add more random photos because I don’t know where else to put them. And I haven’t adopted the habit of whipping out my camera anywhere anytime so I didn’t take a lot of photos.

The CNY decorations at my used-to-be second home, WARISAN SQUARE. They are such slakers you know, they only added some lanterns. The lights have been there since CHRISTMAS!

Plain but good enough deco at Asia City which is now so empty after all the hype because they tried to (and very successfully) con everyone’s money at their so-called ICE SKATING rink which uses wax instead of ice

Very cute chipmunks which I didn’t buy because I watched Child’s Play and every sequel thereafter. and the shopkeeper was so rude she tried to chase us out with the blaring speakers playing some really noisy and loud song. and it worked.

Me writing on hotel paper because everyone seems to have taken those pointless yet artistic photos so I decided to give it a try too but apparently, failed miserably. lol

guess that’s all. If you want, you can scroll down to see my vain self-shots because I was told  that I look hot (which is no biggie since it happens all the time) in my celebratory outfit (I packed them just in case I did really well in my A Levels so I wouldn’t just be wearing t-shirt and jeans if we were to go out to celebrate which we didn’t) so now I’m going to wear it to EVERY SINGLE outing until it turns grey. And then I’m going to go back to the shop and get the exact same shirt and wear it til it turns grey again. And this will go on forever.
